- Covers Small boat arrivals and returns, UK
- Updated the latest year
Small boat arrivals by month, who arrives, and who is returned from the UK.
By month
Detected small boat arrivals: people, not boats, by date of arrival. Official statistics, not accredited. Recent months are revised as records are completed. The daily counts published elsewhere are not used. A dash marks a month not yet published; the latest year's total covers only the months published so far.
People arriving on small boats each month
People per boat
People arriving divided by boats detected in the same period, by calendar year. A part year is labelled as such. Years with fewer than ten boats are left out.
Average people per boat each year
Who arrives
Nationality, sex and age as recorded on arrival, revised after later checks. Shown by number only. The red marker is the year before.

Claiming asylum
By calendar year of arrival, as shares of that year's small boat arrivals. Figures for each year's arrivals are updated once a year. Totals differ slightly from the arrivals counts above, which were taken from the records on a different date. Referrals for modern slavery alone are not shown, so the shares need not add up to 100%.

Returns
Returns from the UK of people with no right to stay, all routes of arrival. Returns are events, not people. The latest seven quarters are provisional, and voluntary returns are revised upwards as records are matched. The series has breaks in 2010 and October 2020. Returns of people who arrived by small boat count the first return after arrival, by date of return, so they cannot be compared with arrival dates; official statistics, not accredited.
