What a week's work pays, by job and by region, before inflation.

A week's pay

The Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) counts employee jobs, so someone with two jobs counts twice. It covers the UK in April each year. PAYE Real Time Information covers payrolled employees only (no self-employed), mixes full-time and part-time work, and its latest month is a flash estimate that will be revised. All pay is gross and before inflation.

London and the rest

ASHE median gross weekly pay of full-time employees, by the region where they work, in April. The red marker is the UK median; regional medians do not average to the UK figure.

The pay ladder

Two-digit occupation groups of the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC 2020), full-time employees, UK, in April. ONS withholds estimates it judges unreliable; the table shows them as not published. The SOC 2020 series starts in 2021.
